FAMILY fun on December 31, 2014.  Go downtown... be at Campus Martius and watch a ball drop @ 6:30 PM...... just for the ones that can't stay up until midnight... :)  The "party" starts at 4 p.m. and includes food trucks, ice skating, carriage rides and more, all happening to celebrate a bright and prosperous 2015. The ball will drop again @ midnight for those that continue to celebrate in the "D".

What's "Happening" on the Township Website?

Hi All,
Be safe, be happy, be informed. I believe in open and transparent government.   I know most of you do NOT regularly read the township website.  That is one reason I do my blog.  Today I just want to share some links, news and financial information copied from the website.  As always, feel free to share my blog site with others.

Holiday Trash Collection - Starting next week, December 22nd, residents with Thursday and Friday trash days will have their trash pickups delayed by one day for two weeks in a row for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Thursday pickups will be on Friday and Friday pickups will be on Saturday. Monday through Wednesday pickups will remain unchanged. All schedules will go back to normal starting the week of January 5th.

Utility Companies - The Township does not have authority over DTE or other utility companies. If you would like to file a complaint about DTE or other utilities, please contact the Michigan Public Service Commission. You may file a complaint by calling the MPSC at 517.241.6180 or go online to file a complaint at http://www.michigan.gov/mpsc

AGENDAS 3-8:  Public Hearings...   Golling site plan,   block grant,   Bloomfield Adams Manor sewer special assessment,   Kentmoor(s)  subdivision road repaving,  Planet Fitness site plan and 24 hour use,   Granger Development site plan (senior living)
 
AGENDAS  9, 10:     This is the time of year that the Board appoints or reappoints the different commissions/ Planning/ZBA/etc.  Again, there was no request or notice posted to the citizens of this township to inquire whether or not anyone was interested in these positions. While they are appointed positions... at least the township could "discover" other talents in this community that may be of value to these committees in the future.

AGENDA 12:  A yearly problem...as I see it...  but the township leadership OPTS OUT of a state law... Public Act 152...

AN ACT to limit a public employer's expenditures for employee medical benefit plans; to provide the power and duties of certain state agencies and officials; to provide for exceptions; and to provide for sanctions.
 
AGENDA 15:  THIS AGENDA ITEM HAS TO DO WITH PRUDENTIAL PENSION PLAN.....  right now... I'm not sure any resolution should be passed... since Prudential couldn't even show up or send answers to township questions at the Study Session of Dec. 2.   IF the township has not signed it... and it needs to go back to 2013.... why not wait a few more months... and get more info. from Prudential to OUR questions and concerns?    The below was in the BOARD PACKET....for this agenda item 15:
