FYI: The regular Monday meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 @ 7 PM. The April 14 scheduled meeting was: "... (Rescheduled from April 14 due to Erev Pesach)" according to the Township website. ?
IMPORTANT: The township board of trustees already voted to put 4 millages on the August 2014 ballot. However, AS AGENDA ITEM #12 on April 17.... the township is going to REVIEW the safety path renewal millage and the public safety renewal millage... that does NOT actually expire until 2016.
After "reviewing" those 2 out of the 4 millages previously approved to be on the August ballot.... the Board of Trustees on AGENDA item #13...wants to spend $13,000 for a 300 person telephone survey to an agency to see how people might vote if all 4 millages are on the ("stealth") August ballot ...see below...then that agency will offer to help a "citizen" committee (for more money from the "citizen" committee) do PR work to make the yes vote happen. That agenda item will be voted on THURSDAY, April 17.
NO, NO, NO, NO..... and NO to spending $13,000 for a 300 person telephone survey.
NO DEDICATED millages. DEDICATED millage money can NOT pay first obligation bond debt.... and Bloomfield Township has $100 MILLION in bond debt.
WHAT ARE THE TWP. PRIORITIES?
PLEASE call/ email / text message/ facebook/ whatever.... and tell the township leadership NOT TO SPEND $13,000 for a SURVEY. They vote on Thursday, April 17.
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD !
Suggest pothole repair with the "where did you find $13,000" money.
