Suicide - Conference 11/17/12 - Bl. Hills location

Suicide ....   however accomplished  ....    brings heartache and questions to survivors ...  and wondering if there was anything you could have done to prevent it..... 

I would like to share this information of an EVENT that will be this Saturday, Nov. 17.   I read about it on my Oakland Press online news.  Having recently read about one young teen in Bloomfield Township and another teen from Walled Lake Western H.S. and a man in his twenties choosing suicide....   and the times we live in with our own economic uncertainty and the "fiscal cliff" issue of our country....  many might find this meeting on Saturday helpful.

"Saturday is The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s International Survivors of Suicide Day.

Common Ground is hosting a conference 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Kirk in the Hills, 1340 W. Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills.

Attendees will learn advice on how to cope with grief after a loved one’s suicide, how to handle the grief during the holidays and how to cope if you’re contemplating suicide.

Zoning Board of Appeals/ 11-13 @ 7 PM

Hi All,
Tuesday, November 13 @ 7 PM  Zoning Board of Appeals Agenda

Ten properties are seeking variances.  Once a decision is made, it is final or must be challenged through a court lawsuit.  Therefore, it is important to check the list monthly to see if there is something that would impact you or your neighborhood and speak up at the meeting.   This monthly list is published in the Eccentric at least 15 days prior to the meeting/per the law.  It should also be found on the township website.

The first item was tabled at an earlier meeting and will now be heard at this meeting.

Board of Trustees Meeting 11-12 @ 7 PM

Hi All,
Tonight's Board of Trustees meeting has three public hearings, discussion of the 2013 Safety Path plan, and a proclamation that is one month late and decided behind closed doors finally brought to the public concerning former Supervisor Dave Payne and naming the Public Services Building.  Also, how many years should the township pay for gypsy moth management?  Perhaps putting this issue out for BIDS...may get new information and a lower price?
